Simple White Cake Smash

How adorable is this cake smash with this little cutie? She turns ONE next week and I’m still in disbelief! It doesn’t seem possible that a whole year ago we were waiting for our friends to welcome their baby girl. I remember meeting her for the first time after they got home from the hospital. She was so tiny with such pretty eyes and a full head of soft, dark baby hair. And then somehow, here she is almost a whole year later looking so grown up!

We started her session with a simple floral setup for some regular portraits. I couldn’t get over her pink and white dress. It looked so great with the white sheer backdrop and the pops of pink florals, and of course little miss looked perfect among it all! Her cake smash setup was a little different. Still keeping with the simple white style, we threw in a balloon arch with a touch of greenery and some cute letters. We topped it off with her cake on a tree trunk stand. The simplicity of the backdrop put her front and center and I love the way it draws all the attention to her, right where it should be!

It was fun to plan the details of the cake smash and style the session, and it was so special to capture this precious milestone for our dear friends and their sweet girl. The best part, though, has been watching her grow over the past year. From play dates with our littles to holidays spent together, we are truly blessed to have these friends and their sweet girl in our lives. Happy first birthday, Charli! We love you!
