Woodward Park Maternity Session in Tulsa, OK

The Swart family will be welcoming baby #2 in a couple of months, so of course we had to squeeze in a maternity session! This whole session was absolutely gorgeous! Am I surprised though? Not at all. This sweet family kills it every single time we have a session together.

My favorite thing about photographing a family with a lively toddler is the candid photos. We can have a perfect session where we fine-tune the poses until they’re just right every single time, and they’ll be beautiful, no doubt. But there’s just something about the moments when the poses don’t go just as planned; where the family dynamic truly comes out and memories are made – it just can’t be matched.

I think one of the best photos from this session came from one of these moments. Dad had Blakely on his shoulders, Mom was hugged into Dad. As we were trying to get Blakely to look at the camera, she decided to peek down at Dad instead. It was unexpected and it was just so funny the way she did it, so of course Mom and Dad got a kick out of it! The laughter in the photo is genuine, and you can almost feel the love when you look at them.
