St. Patrick’s Day Cake Smash

This little cutie is a St. Patrick’s day baby, so of course we had to theme her one-year cake smash as such! I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Ember for every milestone – from Mom and Dad’s maternity session, newborn, 6 month, all the way to her one year celebration. She’s so fun!

Ember was sitting on Dad’s lap while we were getting the rest of the set-up ready. She was so content! She sat there ever-so-patiently, watching every single thing we did. One thing I know for sure is she is definitely observant and curious! To start her session, Mom sat her down next to the setup. I started firing away, but Ember was soon crawling her way up to me to check out my camera! This happened several times – Mom would sit her down, she would crawl up to me, wash, rinse, repeat. It was too funny.

One of my favorite parts from this cake smash was when we were trying to get her to play with one of the props. She really didn’t seem too interested, but Mom and Dad had an idea. They said that as long as you tell her not to do something, she’ll do it (if you know, you know). They started saying, “You better not play with that,” “No, no,” and, “Give it to Mama.” As they continued to say these things, she suddenly became more interested in playing with it. Imagine that! If you’ve had the joy of raising littles, I’m sure you can appreciate how funny this was!

Kaytlyn and Jordie, thank you guys for trusting me to document Ember’s first year. She has been such a joy to work with and it’s been fun for me to watch her grow! Happy belated birthday to your sweet girl!
